Explore an enchanted forest and cocoon yourself in creativity this autumn at The Nest, just one of a fun-filled bonanza of events titled Chester Designed By Nature. Chester’s cityscape is blessed by nature and that’s the theme of an exciting new arts programme, Chester Designed By Nature, which takes place in the city this autumn and winter. Join in the special events and activities and look out for some amazing large-scale sculptural installations that will be popping up across the city during the next six months. The Nest is the first of the art installations, a magical space where imaginations can run free. It has been created in an empty shop in the city centre by the outdoor arts organisation Wild Rumpus, well known for family favourite The Lanterns at Chester Zoo. When the dark nights of winter set in, Wild Rumpus will brighten up the skies above with another piece of art, The Roving Moon. Spot its latest location as it moves between the tops of different buildings from 25 November. There are lots of other winter happenings to enjoy, too. The torchlit midwinter parades the Winter Watch and Saturnalia (9, 16 Dec), The Lanterns at Chester Zoo (12 Nov-23 Dec), and the annual Christmas Market (18 Nov-22 Dec) will all make a welcome return. 24/32
